S. Greer & Son

Poolbeg Street on a quiet spring day.
The building in the foreground S. Greer & Son was once the home to three generations of saddlers, founded in the early 20th century by Sam Greer, his grandson inherited from his father his trade christian name and business, working with the skills and the same tools of the old craftsmen that went before him and using the best quality leather, threads and accessories, people traveled far and wide to get their horse tack from Sam, such was the high craftsmanship and durability of his products, on request he could also make a leather bag for a special purpose or sculpt a guitar strap.
Sam closed his shop in early 2000 with no heir to take over the business the link to the past was broken and another piece of Dublin's history was gone.
